Two continents, one message – automation and flexibility
Boxmat took part in two major industry events – FACHPACK 2025 in Nuremberg and PACK EXPO in Las Vegas. Both appearances confirmed that process automation, modular design, and inline digital printing are the key directions shaping the future of the corrugated packaging industry.
FACHPACK 2025 – the European premiere of Boxmat Modular
Modularity as an investment in growth
The Boxmat booth in Nuremberg was buzzing with activity – this was where the world premiere of the Boxmat Modular took place. At the heart of the display was the new, fully modular corrugated box-making machine, demonstrated in a realistic production environment. Visitors could watch it in action – from rapid changeovers and flexible adjustment to various board types (3/5/7-layer) to smooth transitions between cutting, gluing, and perforating. The idea behind the project was summed up perfectly by the slogan: “Start with what you need today – expand as your business grows.”
Boxmat PRO X – reliability and smart production
At FACHPACK 2025, visitors also had the chance to see Boxmat PRO X, the flagship on-demand box-making machine. Key features include:
- Plug-n-Play integration with the JetBOX digital printer and sheet feeders
- 24” HMI touch screen with an intuitive interface
- Eco Drive servo motion – low energy consumption
- 10 slotting knives, 4 (expandable to 8) cutting and creasing wheels
- Full ERP/MRP system integration and VPN remote diagnostics
- Built-in INTELIGO system for smart diagnostics, scheduling, and production control
With its improved structure and FreeStyle mode, PRO X lets users design boxes from scratch, without cutting dies – ideal for short runs and on-demand production.
JetBOX – inline digital printing
At FACHPACK, crowds gathered around the JetBOX digital printer, working in perfect sync with the Boxmat PRO X. Together they formed a dynamic duo, showing how printing, cutting, and creasing can all be performed in a single production cycle. The PRO X + JetBOX setup impressed with its precision, speed, and seamless operation. The Boxmat team demonstrated each stage live – from digital layout preparation to the finished printed box – proving that inline digital printing can be just as fast as traditional production. Main advantages:
- Direct printing on corrugated board (before cutting)
- 360 dpi resolution, single or dual-color printing
- Project and print-position memory
- Automatic printhead cleaning
- Support for .png files
JetBOX enables real-time box personalization – without outsourcing printing.
Vacuum Table and Lightweight Feeder – full automation of sheet feeding
The booth also featured innovative feeding systems:
- Vacuum Feeder (VF) – a suction-table solution that stabilizes sheets and prevents warping
- Lightweight Feeder (LWF) – an automatic scissor-type feeder that picks sheets directly from a pallet
The combination of both systems minimizes operator involvement and reduces setup time by up to several dozen percent.
