How the Box Gluing System Works
The box gluing system is an optional solution integrated with BOXMAT machines. It enables corrugated box gluing directly during production. The system uses cold glue technology and operates inline without interrupting the machine’s operating cycle.
Dedicated nozzles integrated with the cross-cutting knife apply the glue. The system applies glue precisely at the moment it cross-cuts the sheet, which ensures process continuity and high repeatability of the gluing pattern. Two independently programmable nozzles allow operators to adjust the gluing method to the box format and design.
Key Benefits of the Gluing System for BOXMAT BOXMAKERS Machines
- corrugated box gluing without interrupting the production cycle,
- cold glue application during cross-cutting,
- integration of gluing nozzles with the cutting knife,
- two independently programmable gluing nozzles,
- possibility to apply one or two glue lines,
- continuous or intermittent lines (dots or short segments),
- precise positioning of the gluing area thanks to a laser guide,
- solution tailored for short and medium production runs.
Why Does Gluing Integration During Production Matter?
In the traditional box production model, manufacturers treat gluing as a separate operation. This approach adds an extra workstation, requires handling semi-finished products, and involves additional operator time.
With the integrated gluing system in corrugated boxmaking machines, you eliminate these steps. The machine forms the box in one continuous cycle – from sheet to finished product – and applies glue directly during production.
The result?
- less material handling,
- reduced risk of errors,
- shorter order lead times,
- greater quality repeatability.
